1quarter cupfresh peppermint leaves or dried peppermint
2tablespoonshoney or sugar
0.5teaspoonvanilla extract (optional)
1servingwhipped cream (optional, for topping)
1servingcrushed peppermint candies (for garnish)
Instructions
In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
Once boiling, remove from heat and add the black tea leaves or tea bags. Steep for about 5 minutes to achieve a strong flavor.
Add the fresh peppermint leaves into the tea and steep for an additional 3 minutes. If using dried peppermint, add it at this stage and steep for 5 more minutes.
Strain the tea into a clean pot or pitcher to remove the tea leaves and peppermint.
In another saucepan, heat the milk gently until warm but not boiling. If desired, stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine the warm milk with the peppermint tea mixture and sweeten with honey or sugar to your liking. Mix well.
Pour the peppermint milk tea into cups and top with whipped cream if using.
Finish with a sprinkle of crushed peppermint candies for garnish and an extra touch of flavor.
Notes
Adjust sweetness based on preference. Whipped cream and crushed peppermint candies are optional toppings.
