Instructions
In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
Add the loose black tea or tea bags and the chai spice blend to the boiling water. Let it steep for about 5-7 minutes for a robust flavor.
While the tea is steeping, in a separate pot, combine the cherries and honey (or maple syrup) with a splash of water. Heat gently over medium heat until the cherries break down and release their juices (about 5-7 minutes). Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Remove the tea from heat and strain it into a pitcher to remove the tea leaves or bags. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
Once cooled, mix the cherry sauce into the brewed chai until well combined. Adjust sweetness if necessary.
In a glass, fill with ice cubes and pour the cherry chai mixture over the ice, filling to about 3/4 full.
Top with milk, stirring gently to combine and create a lovely marbled effect.
Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing finish.
Notes
Adjust sweetness to taste with honey or maple syrup.
