Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, dried Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish (about 1 cup).
Place three lasagna noodles over the sauce, ensuring they don’t overlap.
Layer half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by one cup of mozzarella and half a cup of marinara sauce.
Repeat the layers: Three more noodles, the remaining ricotta mixture, another cup of mozzarella, and half a cup of marinara.
Top the final layer with the last three noodles, the remaining marinara sauce, and finish with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil (avoid touching the cheese) and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden.
Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
Use no-boil noodles for a quicker preparation.
