12/4 cupchopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir continuously until the butter turns a golden brown color and develops a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar and granulated sugar. Pour the brown butter over the sugars and mix until well combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using, until evenly distributed in the dough.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each cookie.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are slightly soft.
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Serve cookies stacked on a rustic wooden board or in a clear glass cookie jar for a homey touch. Drizzle some melted chocolate on top for an extra indulgent look. Enjoy!
