2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast

1/2 cup milk, warmed (110°F)

1 egg, beaten

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup pecans, chopped

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well.

    In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, beaten egg, and melted butter.

      Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, 1 tablespoon at a time.

        Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

          Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

            While the dough is rising, prepare the sticky bun filling. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, maple syrup, chopped pecans, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves completely.

              Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

                Spread the maple-pecan mixture evenly over the dough.

                  Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough up into a log shape. Pinch the seams to seal and slice the log into 12 equal pieces.

                    Arrange the slices cut-side up in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Drizzle any remaining maple pecan mixture over the top and cover with a towel. Let rise for 30 minutes.

                      Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the buns for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
